Hello! I'm Katie, a 20 something wife and mama to the sweetest little boy. My journey to wellness began back in college after gaining the dreaded freshman 15. I have packed on about 10 pounds every year all through high school and finally just had enough of it. I started going to the gym every day and hitting the salad bar instead of the ice cream bar. Over the remaining 3 years of college I dropped 40 pounds!
Since college I've fluctuated a bit ( and more than a bit when I was pregnant! ) but have been finding ways to get back to where I feel most confident. A few months after my sweet little baby arrived I was ready to kick it into high gear! Three months post baby I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight but my body just wasn't the same. I ran a half marathon six months post baby but still wasn't back to my pre-pregnancy self. I saw the number i wanted to see on the scale but my clothes didn't fit and I just felt uncomfortable. I was going out trying to buy a new wardrobe to hide this new body. I had seen a lot of coaches on facebook posting about the 21 day challenge and how it was different than other meal plans because it really was a lot about portion control which was a major problem for me. So I got the program as a christmas gift to myself. I went in thinking that if it could just help me eat healthier and in proper portions I would be satisfied and if I lost a pound or two would be an added bonus.
Quickly after I got it I realized that my husbands best friends wife had recently become a coach and was starting a challenge group and invited me to join. A week in i could noticeably tell a difference in my body! My belly had shrunk and I already felt stronger. I was shocked on the 21st say when I stepped on the scale and was 9 pounds lighter! I felt so much more confident in myself and loved that I was eating healthier and having more energy. The next day I registered to be a coach because I so full heartedly believed in this program and that it's something that's sustainable. I want to tell everyone I know about it! Even when I'm not doing a 21 day challenge I still use the principles it taught me when I make a meal or set aside a portion for myself. I'm eager to do my workout everyday and keep seeing results. So here I am as a coach and I can't wait to help others along the same journey!
